Roosevelt Full Bands Pop Report

I will try this again.
I have searched for the past 4 months (I started before PCGS's anouncement),the L.B. show, 10 local dealers and 5 local (L.A.)coin shows.
I have not looked for grade only Full Bands. Before Roosevelts I looked for Jefferson Full Steps Nickels, so I kinda got an eye for detail like splits bands.

Now here is what I found/ bought.

I did alot of looking at clad's too but have not put the data together yet.
I can tell you that 3 of 4 68's are Full Bands as well as 81's the rest will tell you later.

Thanks Lucy. I tried to make it line up but looks like that did not work.

    Good reporting!

Do you have any feel for which dates were really hard or easy? For example, you didn't find any 58-P Full Bands - was that because you didn't see many 58-Ps, or you saw a lot of them but none of them would make FB?

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

I bought all that I could find. If the number is zero thats how many I found.

I did not skip any date with the exception of when I had 20 or more like 51-D,53-D 59, and 64's

Late 50's & 60's P mint are hard except 59 which is 2or3 out 5 will be split.

    I see I forgot the 49's

    1949 P 1
    1949 D 3
    1949 S 1

As I mentioned in some prior posts, some of the most common dates may be some of the hardest to find in FB. I will add one data point to Glen's list, I recently went thru about 250 Rosy's in 2x2's that had been collected over the years by a board member and found similar results EXCEPT, I did find one 1958P dime with possible full bands (out of 8 coins) - the lower bands were clearly split......but "full" is a little more difficult to define (yet). This is the first 58P I've seen in high grade (MS65+) with a shot at FB. Clearly, the 52P-58P coins are toughies as are the 51S-55S coins in high grade. My question is what dates in the 60s will be difficult in FB???

At the recent Buena Park show, I also went thru probably 200-300 rosy's in 2x2's w/o locating any of the "tough" FB dates.

This is a good start. Keep it up. Thanks for the effort.
