Merc folks, Here we go again on eBay

There is a colorful 1939-S MS67 Merc on eBay that everyone seems to be interested in. This one will be fun, but it probably will not end up being inexpensive. There is no grey sheet for a 67, and bluesheet is only $155. I am guessing we will see this go for some bucks.

Ken, you have to check this one out. This is your kind of coin.

The snipers will probably beat me out on this one, but I will be there at the end, so make sure your proxy bid is your final offer in the last minute.

    Deep,

Hope you get this one. Your set is calling out for this coin.

EVERYONE TAKE YOUR HANDS OFF THE KEYBOARD AND SLOWLY BACK AWAY !! This is DC's coin.

    Jon,

I intend to be agressive on this coin, but everyone is free to play on eBay. In fact, because of the toning I thought Ken might be interested. It is one of two that I really have targeted for my set. I also need a 36-P in 67 to put those two coins in line with the rest of my little collection.

Anyway, it will be another fun week and I am actually glad that I missed out on the 20-D as I now have the funds available to go after this one.

Again, thanks for the comment! Merc folks are the best!

I placed bids on it the other day. The competition is on. (I'm done bidding--I think--so bid it up and I will sit back and watch).

Rick go get it. I'm real happy with the FB one I have that did not get the designation. image

Fingers are off the keys on this one.

    Rick,

Hope you get this one; I won't be bidding on it. I'm very happy with my 65NB coin in an old holder, purchased over 10 years ago, when PCGS was stingy giving higher grades. It's a no-brainer 66, shot 67, IMO.

I'll be watching the bidding on this 67, just out of curiosity. Good luck on it.

    Jim,

It is a relief to know that you are not interested. Congratulations again on winning the 20-D. Again, this is an open process, I started this thread. I will be there bidding at the end, hopefully with success. I have been chasing this coin for over a year now.

Would anyone else be interested in pushing PCGS for a Merc short set? The Walkers have one and I know the early coins get really expensive in FB.

    Hey Rick,

If you miss out, you still have first shot at mine as soon as I get a 65FB coin. You sure don't have to worry about me bidding on it, although it is a beauty!

    Wayne,

Thanks for the support. With any luck I will land two upgrades that I have been looking for over year. They will very little effect on my registry position as I have both in 6, but you know how you set a goal for your set in certain areas so this is actually more important to me than getting a coin like the 20-D in an odd way.
