Is that true? Or is that just for some premium support, such as the catalog mailing. I don't need that, I'd rather just look at the website.

The Mars Attacks results are amazing!
Joe
And although it went for $4K below SMR, it doesn't mean we could have obtained it for that, since the next bid increment would be 10% higher and a 15% buyers premium added to the increment as well. Plus who knows how high the current winner would have went. None-the-less, I would love it for my collection...jay

After subtracting the charges of 15% seller fees and 15% buyer fees, however, the amount of money that ends up in the sellers" pockets in many cases are far less than SMR prices. Looks like the big winner here is Mastro.
<< <i>Looks like the big winner here is Mastro. >>
Without a doubt! Be it Mastro, Superior, LeLands, Gray Flannel etc... Its a helluva racket making 30% of the overall price without laying out for the items. I'm jealous as hell! ...jay

<< <i>Can anyone explain what caused the amazing price for the Mars Attacks? Is it just sheer rarity or was it a bidding frenzy? I am not familiar with the non-sports cards one bit. >>
The SMR prices are nowhere near reality. I had figured the break-up value of the Mastro set at $19,500. SMR is about $2000.
They have PSA 7's singles @ $25.00. They sell for $100 to $400+ depending on the card number. They have 8's listed for $45. They sell for $400+.
They have The #55 checklist in PSA 8 for $100. The last one sold on ebay (by me), for over $2500, with at least 5 different bidders in the $1500 to $1800 range.
Those SMR prices are science fiction.
Which makes perfect sense for a Mars Attacks set.
Richard
Hey Richard, I always see you selling great Non-sports stuff. I would be willing to sell you my Mars Attacks set, 80% complete. I sold the rest of the cards or if you have any 67 Topps baseball, I would be willing to trade as well. The checklist has just a few markings & is very nice.
Or with anybody for that matter. Just send me an email.
Thanks
Be good my brothers.
