Wow, how do you compete with a set like that. I had my moment in the sun last year and will never see number 1 again. But I still really love my set as I know all the other Merc heads love their sets also. As Clint E. said in one of his movies "a mans got to know his limitations".

  • Well said Dimeman. I got to #4 but am headed down. Thats an awesome, humbling set. But I love mine all the same. They may not be all MS68++++, but they're mine. I'll continue to pursue my goal of MS63FB's or better set, it'll take time but that's the fun. And yes, thats got to be an expensive investment. JVoege

  • I gotta second Dimetime about Jon's statement, but I too, am very proud that all of us have a very enjoyable set, the we continue to share and enjoy. He has the same set listed in the Varieties set as well, and it is just an awsome set with the overdates and micro s as well. Good Job!

  • That is some set. I just wonder is it as much fun putting a set together when all you have to do is just plunk down the money. I have to skimp and save then wait for an auction. Them hope I don't get outbidded. image

Is it a new set or is it the same set as in the w/varieties without the varieties?

Anyway, wow what a nice set.

    Jon,

I agree and like you stated so eloquently most of us will likely never even get close to such a stunning collection, but if when you look at your pieces and you smile knowingly, that is IMHO what this registry is all about, and collecting altogether.

I too have a long way to go, and when completed I know that I will have gotten the finest examples I can afford and to the best of my ability for as long as it takes.
That is worth more to me than plunking down $1 mil and putting it together within 15 months as was just done with the Joshua II set.

However I admit if I do win the lottery I will aquire some of those pieces much quicker image

I am totally at awe at the size and breadth of that collection!!
