Its strange to me that the letters or stars have no toning..... but, I'm not familiar with this series....

Coin looks AT to me, but if it looks good in person and you like it, you should get it. Common date in a common condition. Not too much at risk.

Lucy and Tyler, thanks for your opinions. I do not know the series well, but it is a neat-looking circulated classic coin.

It looks as if it may have had an old cleaning...the reasons I suggest this possibility is because I have a problem with the stars on the left side of the obverse... the stars appear to be outlined and the toning doesn't seem to consume them the way toning normally would. I would prefer to reserve judgement on the issue of whether it is AT until actually seeing the coin, however, I think it is possible that the coin naturally retoned over the years. But even if that were the case, I think the stars would probably not be outlined and even highlighted the way they are. I would grade the coin in the EF40 RANGE.

BTW, my previous response was in connection with the 1829 Bust Half.

    RYK,

That looks like an RPHolder coin. If so, I can tell you that his imaging skills are much better than his grading skills. But, he does have a return policy and he stands behind it.

Russ, as usual, you are right on the money! He is very nice to deal with, but I have never sent any of my 6 or 8 purchases for grading, yet! Good call.

I am going to pass on the coin...to buy some Frankies!

    Thanks!

somewhere in between original and AT would be my opinion. its not one nor the other.

cleaned and retoned, could be better could be worse.

1829 coin is a-t, but market acceptable, value at vf-25

1795 is a-t, not market acceptable, imo

Toning on both appears to have occured after the coins were cleaned, and may have been caused by whatever was used to clean them.
