Clark of Kent, are you INSANE? The Franklin (as the Roosy) was designed by the noted designer, John R. Sinnock who also designed the reverse of the Illinois commem.

    We ALL get old.

    heh

Seriously, I once ALSO had a penchant for Frankies. LOOOONG time ago. Before anyone heard of Full Bell Lines. My criteria was the balls holding the bell. I looked for rounded ones and had a killer set which I sold in a moment of madness.

Franklins are either terrific or terrible. There's no middle ground.

I have a 1964 Kennedy that's toned in a similar way. When I posted it, it was pretty much universally considered artificial toning. Too much uninterrupted blue.

Looks like a doctored AU Lori - the colors aren't blending right - does it have luster?

100% AT. too much "purple" from the sulpher used to tone it.

The reverse looks OK. Looks like normal and reasonable toning to me at least. Looks like something is up with obverse though.

Looks like a "practice" coin. The obverse probably looked similar to the reverse, but lighter. Then the doctor went to work. Sorry Lori. image
  • No luster. Looks like the picture. Kind of dull. I thought AT too after I got it. Oh well.

    Thanks for the info.
