Nice coin? A little too white for such an early coin? Opinions appreciated.

    I like the color.
    US Navy CWO3 retired. 12/81-09/04

    Looking for PCGS AU58 Washington's, 32-63.
  • I would imagine that it has been dipped or something at some point, but it appears to be retaining alot of luster yet.
I LOVE PROOF SEATED LIBERTY COINS AND ALL BETTER DATE SEATED LIBERTY COINS
  • I'd agree that it was probably dipped at one point, but I would guess it was a long time ago and the coin looks very good to me now based on the photo.

If the coin had never been dipped, it would be almost black after 200 years of tarnishing, wouldn't it?

I just tried to bid $10 for Higashiyama but did not know his valid password.

I am guessing this coin will be bid up considerably in the next 3 weeks.

    I think it's a gorgeous coin. Here's one i sold about a year and a half ago:

(I'm confident that they are not the same coins.)
