This is an 1880-CC Morgan (GSA BB), is this the reverse of 1878?

No, that is the reverse of 79. Look at the topmost arrow feather on the arrows in the eagles claws. It it angles upwards as in this case it is the reverse of 79. If it is thinner and parallel to the others than it is the reverse of 78. HTH.

They are right. It is the reverse of the '79. How did someone who does not know this end up with such a fantastic lokking CC piece?
