New Services and Fee Schedule posted

Schedule and Fees

Looks like when you do an online submission for silver level it is now $15 instead of $12 for post 1965. Don't remember that being mentioned before.

Pennies make dollars, and dollars make slabs!

....inflation must be kicking in again this dollar says spend by Dec. 31 2004!

HMM...regular is 15 days guaranteed? I wonder when that was effective, and what precisely that means? Is it free if not completed in that time frame? Hehe, maybe that's why PCGS still hasn't cashed the check for my submission that arrived 03.05.image

    Russ, NCNE
  • I sure hope that starts today for the regular service. I just sent a few coins in yesterday. That is the only way us Silver members can submit. Bummer on the $30 per coin though.

  • Lori:

The turn around time for Silver members has not changed, it is still 30 days.
The 15 day service has been guaranteed for Gold and Platinum members.
It looks like when the fee schedule was updated on line the was miscommunication and is being corrected now.

I'll be happy when my submission from 1/22 is finished...

    Carol,

So, does that mean my submission that's been in since 03.05 is going to be free since it's past the 15 day mark?image

    Russ, NCNE
  • No Russ, but if you mail the submission today it would fall under the new guidelines.
Could you imagine all the people we would have to call now who didn't comply with the 5 coin minimum rule on the other services?

  • I know you don't but you have to take the good with the bad.

    Carolj,

If I send in my submission with a box of Godiva Truffles and flowers, do my grades go up by a point or two?
  • Probably not. My guess would be that the chocolate would melt all over your coins in transit and they may get bb'd for AT.

Is PCGS really going out on a limb with the guarantee? That could be dangerous. What happens if it isn't completed by the proscribed time limits -- is the grading fee credited back to your account, do you get coupons for future free gradings, ect?

This could be a customer service nightmare.

    Thanks
    Michael
  • Carol,

What is the guarantee service, is it for problem coins or overgrades and how much is it and is it only available to gold and platinum members?image

    Erik,

The guarantee being referenced in this thread is turnaround time.

    Russ, NCNE
  • The simple answer is yes.

As a silver member you have 3 basic service available.
    Reholder, (Pre-1965 U.S. Coins) $30/coin 30 business day turnaround, (Post-1965 U.S. Coins) $15/coin (5 coin min)
    30 business day turnaround.

The Silver membership rate for post 1965 coins has always been higher so of course that rate went up when the rates went up for Gold and Platinum members.

    Edited to add:

Having all service levels and turnaround times available is one of the benefits of Gold/Platinum membership.
That and the Quarterly Coin Special.

  • None of the turn around times for silver are guaranteed.

And, the freebies for renewal; which I just did.image

  • Thanks, when filling out online submission form for silver the only types listed are: Grading, Regrade, Crossover. Are they going to correct and add reholder for silver on the form?

  • Just write reholder under the Post 1965 service and include $5 per.
I'll ask that they add it to the form.

  • Thanks your a sweetheart.image

    Carol,

What does it mean to have a guarantee on the turnaround time? What happens if they are not returned in that amount of time?

    Thanks,

She already sidestepped my question -- hopefully she'll answer yours.

C'mon -- please Carol we want to know. image

  • If we miss the turnaround time, you will receive a voucher for alike submission. You need to write the service type on the outside of the box. Reg, Express, etc.
The guarantee is based on business days and is not in effect during major shows PCGS attends.
The guarantee would also be invalid if the customer did not follow rules such as not including payment, mixing service levels or grading types on the same submission forms.
No Quarterly Coin Special with other coins at Reg. Service. Do not mix raw and crossovers.

  • No. I think it's pretty straight forward and clear. No soft shoe, tap or ballet anywhere to be found.
