Free ase's from collector's club

I recently joined the collector's club and PCGS sent me a "free" silver eagle along with the membership package. With my naked eye I can see at least 7 rim nicks (one is a scrape along the inside edge of the rim about 1/4 inch long), the top of the B and E in liberty have scrapes on them, the right-most full-length sun ray looks like someone dropped another coin on it (you can see the imprint from the reeded edge) and to top it off Miss Liberty has a gash across her throat like a tracheotomy scar. All this on a coin in a PCGS slab designated MS68. To quote Scott Travers, "A coin graded MS-68 must appear perfect under 10-power magnification, with the exception of a nearly imperceptible scratch, nick, or flaw which appears in a non-grade-sensitive area (e.g., the hair)". I believe he borrows this definition from The Coin Collector's Survival Manual. I wish I was able to post images comparable in quality to the many fine ones I've seen on this forum so everyone could agree that through no stretch of the imagination does this coin meet the above named criteria. I see so much talk about the looseness of grading standards at the other grading services but quite frankly if this is indeed a PCGS MS-68 then I can't wait to get my 1799 $10 back from them. I'll be rich! Has anyone else had a similar experience?
That humanity at large will ever be able to dispense with artificial paradises seems unlikely. Most men and women lead lives at the worst so painful, and at the best so monotonous, poor, and limited, that the urge to escape, the longing to transcend themselves, if only for a few moments, is and always has been one of the principal appetites of the soul.

<< <i>Then what's the point of putting a grade on the darn thing? >>
What's the point of braile on a drivethrough sign? Same idea...
Wow.I have one exactly like that too .But mine isnt slabbed.
Mine came from Littleton Coin.
I know I know. Its not a good idea to buy from them as there are no real bargains to be had there.
My Dad ordered them thinking it was from the Mint I guess.
But ya.I saw the slit-throat on my `03 .
Maybe we have a cool new variety guy?
Ever thought of that?
lol
The Murdered `03 SAE. Scarce.
And on the 68 grade.
Maybe bullion is graded on a different scale all together.Seems so. Thats cool.
So I,m happy to know my coin is atleast a 68 too.
Fantastic.
atkeast no one here is trying to hock their `murdered `03 ase for $125.000
