That mintmark looks a little out of place. Maybe it's just the angle of the coin.

  • It is very.... orange.

  • Did you get it through ebay ? mail order? Either way nice pick up of a nice coin. That is one of two Lincoln cents I need to complete my collection. I'll give you all one guess as to which other cent I need to complete it.
  • THIS IS A COIN I HAVE A PATICULAR INTEREST IN, in the gades vf to au. may i ask where you purchased the piece and what grade you would put on the piece? dificult to tell from the scan.
  • I agree with russ, the coin may be a counterfeit but I can't tell for sure.

It's actually a dark brown, my lighting is not the best.

Got it on ebay, Link. I don't think i'll be picking up that other one either for quite some time.

There is some separation between cheek and jaw, just not a lot. Its F in Photogarde and VF Red Book. There is a scratch on the face though so F-15 maybe. Grading is a weak point of mine but i do like the coin.

    Here's the original auction image:

Lightened and sharpened to show detail. Mintmark looks okay to me in that pic.
