How about a small crack in the cellophane mint packaging -> humidity and moisture attacked JFK

Almost looks as though someone splattered something on it. Perhaps someone stored it in a plastic bag with oily residue? Damaged mint packaging, perhaps? How about the fingerprint that I can see coming up on the obverse? I say dip it.

    Nice looking half, though!

    Cheers,

    Bob

ksteelheader, sometimes the best way to understand different kinds of toning is to experiment yourself. Take a cheap circulated silver half and put it in a small jar with some sulfar( just break open a fire cracker or something similiar and watch it tone like the half you have pictured. mike

  • darktone.......Thank you. That was the original thought in creating this post. I wanted to see if someone would call this coin AT. It is! It spent 1 week in a jar of crushed garlic . Garlic is high in sulfur content
