Huh? What could you be accused of? Trying to warn people of a scam?

  • << <i>Although with only a few hours left, it may end without being pulled. A little background.Secondly, and this is my problem, the seller states it is a 2002. HELLO!!! The part of the date that is missing is the last digit, so how can you say it is a 2002???? >>

C'mon, Its quite obvious, If he found it in a 2002 brinks roll, then it must be a 2002 image

I just dont want no one saying I am interfering with their auctions.
  • Can anyone explain to a new person why it is an obvious scam? Thanks

Because someone used photoshop and doctored the dateimage

I've seen that person you have as an icon before, is it a movie star?

I would bet against the 1999 option - you could convince me of 2010 before 1999.

Shouldn't there be a mintmark? maybe it is a fake!
  • Why couldn't it be from a roll? It looks perfectly round to me just off center. If it was double struck and out of round then ok.Person buying it won't get any grading service to confirm a date with a number missing anyway.

I think you ought to butt out on this one Rampage.
The high bidder has a history of buying off center coins. Since he's not a novice to this type of error, you have no business "protecting" him.

I'd like to 2nd that motion!

That coin is perfectly round it would easily go through a counting machine and then into a Brinks roll.

It may very well be a 2002, but unless the (new) owner can prove it, the value is the same as a 2000. Heck, it may even be a really really rare 2009! image

I say we Bop him on the head, drag his body thru the streets, lock him in a room with Pat Boone songs playing 24 by 7, then, If he ever starts selling off-centered Frankies, I'll really get mad!

If not an outright scam, the coin could be a good deal if the seller can provide the rest of the roll. Some of the other coins in the roll likely exhibit the same die lines. If so, those other coins would prove the date of the O/C.

On the other hand, it might be more fun to run this guy through the Forum Kangaroo Court and let Lucy sentence him...
