I would like to sell this doofus some coins. I have a whole group of "choicey" and "near MS-70" bust halves. Friggin pin head. This is why I absolutely hate ebay. That is a $150 coin and he knows it.

It is a nice looking coin. Seller must have hit zero key too many times during listing......yeah that's it.

Whats the matter with all of you people, why the luster is so bright on that coin

I have been temporarily blinded in one eye. Its just too bad the grading system only

goes to MS-70. Otherwise this coin would surly be closer to MS 81.467321.image

I love his other auctions, too. Did you notice that most of his coins are "estate" coins. Hasn't that estate thing been played to death yet?

It is amazing to me that this scumbag has sold any coins on ebay.

    Karl,

I guess I am kind of surprised to see this post from the guy who scoff's at "plastic." This kind of thing is the reason why PCGS and NGC holders are so important. But then again, you already knew that even if you don't like to say so publicly.

hey calgold, your confusing the subject. i do NOT scoff at plastic. i scoff at the outrageous marketing scams associated w/ plastic. there's a huge difference.

kind of like, i despise saddam hussein, i do not despise the people of iraq.

or, i despise tv commercials, but i enjoy watching tv.

I can't resist saying that while I do not have an 1811 bust half in the sterling condition of the advertised piece, i.e., MS70, I do have the 1811 half dollar as a punctuated date, 1811/10, in PCGS66. Curiously, my coin looks about 20 points finer than the MS70 coin. I wonder why that is?

How can he be a scumbag? He's a power seller with 99.9% positive feedback.

Of course he has 99.9% positive feedback. He has a picture of what he's selling right on the ad, so you know what you're getting before you buy it. If someone looks at the picture, and doesn't have a problem with his description, they'll bid, and if they win the auction they'll get the coin in the picture. Why would they be unhappy? Someone who does have a problem with how his description fits the picture wouldn't bid in the first place, and wouldn't be able to offer any negative feedback.
    Philately will get you nowhere....

If someone were dumb enough to pay $2900 for that coin then they are nieve enough to believe that it's a "choicey mint state coin."

LOL. I saw that some days back and my first impulse was to splash a big message here on the boards to show what a moron the seller was.

Then I realized that there are so many Ebay sellers who do this that it is just gets yawns from others because it is impossible to peruse Ebay for more than four seconds without finding sellers like this under every rock.
