    Andy, Is the example you posted struck on something other than metal? Looks to me like it's been struck on leather.

    I believe I read somewhere that there were some no-date patterns struck on leather in 1858 similar to the J-216 Cu-Ni broad planchet?

    Give Lakesammman a buzz on this one. He'd probably pay at least $50K for it.image

    The coins struck in leather,if i remember right,the ones i've seen anyways,were of a 1856 Flying Eagle cent.I almost bid on them.

    As far as the Indian,i'll guess 1859 or 60?

    Cool pattern, I saw its "sister" recently. I believe both are master die trial strikes in copper-nickel, with the centering dots intact even on the obverse.

    Actually, one has to draw a line somewhere and mine is to not collect master die trials, off metal strikes, etc. It just gets crazy expensive if you try to do all of them.
