How about a little help

If any will, please help me, I am new to coin collecting an learning,, today is my birthday and the wife gave me 1959 uncirculated mint set. They came in cello which had tape on it, ? may have broken at some time.. no problem.. However the denver coins, only the penny is marked with a (D) My question is should not all the coins have the Denver mint mark? or is this normal? I had not looked before but did just now and have other's like this (60-61-62-63 etc etc) Not untill I get to 64 to present do all the coins show the denver mint mark. Tell me ? Have I been had.?

Your mint set contains all the coins minted for a particular year. And so you'll have coins from the Philadephia mint and the Denver mint. Philadelphia mint coins have no mint mark until the Susan B Anthony dollar of 1979. I cannot remember if the San Francisco mint was producing coins at that time for circulation.
But in your case, I think you were had. Because Denver produced 1, 5, 10, 25, and 50 cent coins. The tape on the cello is probably where someone replaced the coins. But remember, for coins before 1965, the mint marks were on the reverse. So you may want to double check to be sure you didn't overlook the mint marks.

On those coins, the mint mark is actually on the reverse of the coin for Jefferson, Washington, Roosevelt, and Franklin.
I hope you enjoy your stay with us!
Edited to add: As mentioned previously by others, the mint-marks are on the back so maybe....
I hate it when you see my post before I can edit the spelling.
