I have to rub this in..

Received 5 UNOPENED 1964 proof sets today. The envelopes were very brittle which makes me believe they really were never opened.
ALL 5 HAD ACCENTED HAIR KENNEDY'S!
WOO HOO!
Not in very good shape. Spots and stuff. I will take some pictures later. But exciting non the less for me.

Burst my bubble.

Yes, I believe that these sets were the real deal and never opened. The envelopes are certainly original. If you look at them, you'll notice a lighter color in some areas of the paper that creates almost a striped affect. That indicates that the coins have been in the envelope for a long time.

Here's an example of what I was referring to:
This was pulled from a mint sealed box.

I don't collect moderns, so please tell me exactly what an accented hair Kennedy is.
Thanks.
Ask and ye shall receive.

If I am lucky all 18 will have AH in them or at least some niced toned coins.

<< <i>I have bought my fair share of blah 1964 sets >>
Lori,
Don't feel like the Lone Ranger. I've bought hundreds of sets, and this is only the third time I've got a batch in that were all AH; one batch of 10, one batch of three, and now this batch of five. Usually, I might find one in about every 20 sets or so.
It makes perfect sense, though, that if the sets all came from the same source they may have been ordered from the mint early and all would contain the first obverse die.
