Dave,
I have a nice BU Lincoln Cent that has very nice target album toning. It look Original to me and others in the biz I have showed it to. It is not a coin I think a coin doctor would bother with as it is fairly common. If it is "manmade"is this type of doctoring easy for your graders to detect??

If I understand what you are saying...I think the type of "album toning" you are talking about is considered "original" by the numismatic community.
