My crossover grades are in...

OuthaulOuthaul Posts: 7,440 ✭✭✭✭✭
Cincinnati - NGC MS-64........PCGS MS-64
Monroe - NGC MS-63............PCGS MS-63
Wisconsin - NGC MS-65........PCGS MS-65
Lincoln - NGC MS-64.............DNC

Not bad...The DNC on the Lincoln was a surprise and I thought the Cincinnati would have gone 65. Still waiting on my Sesquicentennial.

Cheers,

Bob

Yep, Lucy...I can't complain. I was a little nervous over the Cincinnati because I had NCS remove a fingerprint from it. They did a terrific job and did not affect the overall eye appeal. I highly recommend them.

  • Bet they used MS70, could have picked up a bottle for about 8 bucks and you'd have it forever.

    Jim,

You're correct to an extent, I could have done it myself. But, if I had done it it may not have ended up back in a 64 holder. I wasn't willing to take the chance. I know there are quite a few forum members who are very good at this, but I'm afraid I wouldn't know when to stop. It exceeded my comfort level. image

    Cheers,

A well trained eye for grading there Bob. I guess a tip of the hat goes to NGC as well. Congratulations on the results. I agree about the utilization of NCS. Better safe than sorry. image
  • Here our my regrade results from November 2002:

MapMaker, call me a stick in the mud, but I'd rather have a really PQ PR65 in a PR65 holder than that same coin in a PR66 holder. Of course, I don't crack coins and I don't depend on upgrade $$ for income...so I'm not fool enough to think that it's not a good thing for some people.

Still, what about the joy of finding a really PQ undergraded coin?

That's the true joy of collecting when the dollar signs are removed from the equation....isn't it???????
