A State Quarter ?

When did the mint start selling the 2 roll state quarters? Have they sold them for each state or did they start a few states into the program?

Thanks

Chris

Don't remember exactly when, but I think we were at least two years into the program before they started the rolls.

I believe they started with the Ohio quarters. They began them because collectors were complaining about not being able to locate Ohio P mint coins because they were being hoarded. The hoarding was taking place because the P mint was closed for over 6 weeks of the 12 week striking period. They soldwell and the mint realized they had another sucker item so they have been selling them ever since.

They started early in the second year which was 2000 so they missed at least the first 5 and probably the first 6 states. Kind of a tacky move on their part IMO.
