I had been wondering why I have seen so many MS68 coins on eBay for $135 to $200.00.

HRH has been selling them on eBay for $195, but I saw a group of maybe 5 or so on there yesterday that were only $135.00 and thenb when I looked last night, they were all gone. I think someone used the BIN on them which was $150 I think.

Anyway, I guess I will wait a few more months when there are 5,000 MS68s before I buy one. Maybe they will be under $100.00 then. image

This is actually a very common doubled die. It was recognized right away and an inordinate number of high grade MS coins were saved. I've seen such late die state coins that they appeared to be Class VI-merely wide lettering with no division lines. With the die life of 500,000 coins per die achieved at the time, there must be a nearly that number known. Does the demand equal this number? I doubt it. It's a nice doubled die, but I would not even consider anything less than an EDS coin for purchase. Now, the similar 1995-D seems to be an entirely different story altogether. It seems that on this one, the doubling was caught early and most were condemned and the die destroyed-maybe as a consequence of the publicity from the 1995-P.

    koynekwest-

My post was pretty much just to show that there have been a somewhat large number of these submitted which I found to be very interesting. Myself, I own 12 pieces, but none in MS68. All the ones I own are all EDS.
