What does Jack Lee of Morgan $ Fame Look Like?

So I'm at the bourse in Baltmore last week, minding my own business, and some dealer jumps out from behind his table and shouts 'Well if it isn't Mr. Jack Lee' to some guy behind me.

This struck me as very odd because who the heck uses a person's first and last name when greeting them like that? but I figured maybe it was THE Jack Morgan Dollar Lee himself. I'm not a Morgan $ guy but have certainly heard the name. Of course, there are probably a couple hundred Jack Lees in the greater Baltimore area alone - so it could have been the guy that delivers the Cremora to the coffee stand. I have no idea.

So what does he look like?

Having bought coins from Jack once in a while -- and simply stared in rapt awe at several others, which he has graciously allowed me to handle -- I can tell you that Jack has always come across to me as totally friendly, helpful, and down to earth. He's someone I always make a point of going to see at shows and say hello to.

    When in doubt, don't.
  • Well then that was the guy I saw.

I'll start a separate thread called 'brush with numismatics greatness' where everyone can post about the time they were standing near a person with a collection much, much better than their own.

  • I talked to Wayne Miller of Morgan fame a couple times...was trying to buy some dollars from him. Felt like I was talking to a legend...
  • I thought it was pretty cool talking to QDB about coins the first time - it was a little like having Thomas Edison come to your home to put a new lightbulb in your kitchen.

In an insane society, a sane person will appear to be insane.
