Bought a new coin - IHC - picture posted

It's a 1860 Type 1, the variety with the narrow indian bust. It's estimated that of the 20,566,000 cents coined that year, 500,000 were the type one with a narrow bust.
Bought this from a forum member. Paid more than I wanted to but it's a pop 3/1 coin and probably second finest behind a PCGS 67. Has nice proof like surfaces from die striations running from 11 to 5 o'clock, a early die state coin.

Gotta love them Mercs
It's hard to explain. I've come to appreciate the fields on great coins and this one "has it". It's a combination of nice planchet and early die state. My 65 is a nice coin too but doesn't have the eye appeal of this one. The striations really give it a proof-like flash. Both are fully struck. I have a 1857 type 56 in MS66 and a 1859 in 66 that have the same look - something really special about those EDS coins! It's an automatic buy signal, kind of like orange-peel proofs.
