Best accidental coin joke i ever heard [and it really happened]

While i was at a local coin show last year i saw a coin i was interested in, i realized i had left my glasses in my car so i said to the dealer that i wanted to go to my car to get my glasses before i made him an offer and he said i should make him an offer before i get my glasses.

Maybe thats one you had to be there to appreciate.
The President claims he didn't lie about taxes for those earning less then $250,000 a year with public mandated health insurance yet his own justice department has said they will use the right of the government to tax when the states appeals go to court.

Was he smiling when he said `go ahead and make me your offer before you go and get your glasses`
    Or was he serious?

    Pretty witty dealer! image

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

  • I had something about the same. Back when I was highschool some friends and I were driving by a mall when I remembered that there was a coin show there that day. I convinced them to stop by but I hadn't worn my contacts and had my glasses on, being the typical highschool guy and not wanting to possibly run into someone with them I took the glasses off. So off course I couldn't see very well and was holding the coins right up to my face so I could see them more clearly. The dealer at one table offered to let my use his loupe if I really wanted to see it that well, and a few other customers remarked that I must be really picky to look at them that close. My friends just laughed since they knew why I was really doing that.
