Fingerprints, fingerprints, everywhere fingerprints

Good afternoon everyone, I've read a number of posts on these boards concerning fingerprints appearing on coins submitted for slabbing.
My predicament is that I have a 1999 U.S. Silver Proof Set that has a fingerprint on one of the State Quarters
.
I know, I should have checked the sets when the arrived but I didn't. and now it is too late to return it. Although I probably wouldn't return it now anyway considering the U.S. Mint would only refund my purchase price since they allegedly chytcanned tall of the sets they had in storage.
I thought the mint employees didn't handle the coins that went into Silver Proof Sets
.
I remember reading a while back in Coin World that manufacturing of the Silver Proof Sets was mechanized.
Maybe I should send my set to Coin World just so they can see that mint employees do infact handle these coins.
Unfortunately this set was earmarked for an auction of a complete 12 set run of 1999 through 2002 Silver Proof sets, Proof sets, and Uncirculated sets, CRAP!!!

or did you buy it on ebay, cause if you bought it on ebay, the proof sets can easily be snapped apart and somebody might have switched your coins, maybe by putting clad quarters into the silver quarter slots and then and re sold it.

(a) I did not check these sets upon delivery, and
(b) The Mint has destroyed all remaining 1999 Silver Proof Sets because of problems to the sets caused by improper storage, so they will only refund the original purchase price now, unfortunately the sets are now retching $180.00.
