I Love Phoenix Coin Stores - Thanks Lucy

Quick report on my purchases in Phoenix -- sorry no pics until I get home -- Thanks Lucy, I visited all the shops that you listed and 2 of the 3 were great. Coins are much cheaper in AZ then CA!

1939 Merc -- nice rainbows obverse & reverse golds, blues, greens and light lavender $4 (MS65?)

1921 Morgan -- deep toning obverse & reverse mostly blues, greens, golds and reds - $18 (could be AU58 or MS63?)

4 1964 Kennedys in the original Tidy House Products Cardboard Holders - $7 (MS60-MS66?)

Looking for coins while on a vacation --- PRICELESS!

One of the Tidy Kennedys is amazingly toning. For those that don't know Tidy House holders, they can impart rather ugly russett toning or amazing colors. 3 of the 4 are rather plain, but the 4th is beautiful!

    Hmmm. I think I'll have to make an excuse to go to Pheonix. Bring some addresses to the BP Show.

    I was just down there last August visiting some of me wife's family. Wish I would have had time to visit some of them.

    I would recommend Victoria's Coins in Scottsdale and Molnar's Stamps and Coins in Scottsdale as well. Both places had limited selection, but the people in the stores were very helpful and friendly. There's another shop in Scottsdale that I wouldn't recommend. They did have a better selection, but couldn't be bothered with me. Maybe he thought I was a dealer, but none-the-less, he wasn't rather friendly.

    I'm going to try another place today in Glendale and see what they have.

    Anyone know of a good shop in Vegas, I'm heading out there next weekend! Have coins -- will travel!

    You gotta be talking about Valley...... they do have a nicer selection but that dude that was running the shop watched me like a hawk, I mean as if I was gonna rip him off.... So in a way I did, I cherrypicked some killer mintset toned Frankies from him for some very good prices... though this guy is grumpy......

    What a shame, he's in Phoenix (just a hop, skip and a jump from Scottsdale) and he doesn't even golf. image

    Well, I just spent some time there.
    Didn't leave much did I?

    Actually, I just spent 1/2 my budget. Wish I could have found more.
    The most money I made are on coins I haven't sold.
