Hello Everyone...
We just posted the PCGS standards for the new "Full Bands" designation for Roosevelt dimes. Here's the link.

We'd like to thank all of you for all of your input and help with this. I would especially like to thanks Datentype, RegistryCoin, and David Schweitz for the time they spent with me on the phone.
I'm very excited about the Roosevelt series. It's a great post-war series that hasn't gotten the respect it deserves.
Thanks again to everyone.

PS...If the link above doesn't work, please excuse my technological incompetence and go to the PCGS home page for the article about the standards.

Thanks for the news. Now maybe, I'll have to continue the Mercury set with Roosevelts with the new FB Desination.
I'm glad PCGS went with full bands rather than full torch.

I am just guessing but this will not include proofs, correct?
Thanks also to BJ for her tireless work on this subject

What are the dates that do not come with fully split bands ?
It seems to me that the PCGS graders eyes are being put in jeopardy.Good Luck

Thats great!.Now just one more step and give PL to all US coins that merit it.Al
If I had it my way, stupidity would be painful!
I would like to commend you and PCGS for seeking input from forum members regarding the standards and name for the new Roosevelt dime designation. Your choice certainly conveys the best visual depiction of the "full band" (FB) designation -- "full torch" would have been far too subjective in my opinion. The standard presented in your link provides a clear, concise and reasonable benchmark for the graders and submitters. Congratulations on a job well done.

Fb now is not what FB was! What are they looking for?

You would think this would be a no-brainer. Either the bands are there, or they are not!
I guess that Kalifornia sun is really frying their brains out there (not to mention that Humboldt Co. weed)!
I am used to it though, having suffered from the fluctuating PCGS FBL standard on Franklins for far more years.
and they're cold.
