What is the one silver coin that you would love to see in person, but haven't?

SethChandlerSethChandler Posts: 1,718 ✭✭✭✭
For me it would be ANY 1894-S Dime.....one of my favorite coins of all time. I've seen nine different 1804 Dollars, two 1913 V Nickels, but never the dime. Bad Luck? Has anyone seen one?
Collecting since 1976.

I saw the last 94-S dime [NGC PF65] in person - beautiful coin. Legend had been negotiating to buy the coin, but decided to pass in order to buy the 1913 Liberty Head nickel from the same source.

The silver coin I would most like to see in person is the Amon Carter 1794 dollar.

The President claims he didn't lie about taxes for those earning less then $250,000 a year with public mandated health insurance yet his own justice department has said they will use the right of the government to tax when the states appeals go to court.

ANY DCAM Walker or Mercury dime, preferably the Walker, like a 1938.

Go to the smithsonian and you can see 3 for free...

I'd probably go with a DCAM seated coin... maybe one of Anaconda's dollars

The 1894S Dime was my choice before even opening this and seeing your answer.

Second choice is a 1920S Dime that resides in the Top Rated Merc Dime Set of all time. The Joshua II Set. When it was sold in a Heritage Auction a couple of years ago I just went Bat Sh!t when I saw the picture of the coin.

To differ from the previous answers, how about a high-grade 1796 or 1797 half.
  • This one, I bought it today. Can't wait for it to arrive.........Ken..

Ray, I first saw the 1873cc no arrows quarter at the 1976 ANA in New York when Bill Grayson of B&B coin was displaying it. At least that was my recollection. Just a superb coin.

But now I want to see a coin that probably doesn't exist. An 1860-s
seated quarter in gem condition. There are plenty of other dates that are probably just as non-existant but the 60-s caught my fancy years ago. It's almost always found in very low grades and/or damaged. No one bothered to save these coins. As far as I know none are yet known in UNC.
