Anyone know the entire history of PCGS Holders?

On another thread I was reading about "PCGS 8" and "PCGS 12" holders. I'm familiar with a few, but does anyone have the entire history and example pics? It would be really interesting to learn about all the different design types & label colors. This is the first time I ever heard them referred to with numbers. Looking forward to a quick education here!!!!
