    The funny thing is that alot of new collectors mistake the poor strike quality for wear and call them AU.
    It leaves more gems for the rest of us.image

    I hate it on later years when you have a gem obverse and then the shield has scuff marks on the reverse.

    I agree, the shield seems to just attract those scuff marks.

    New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

    Almost looks like tick marks on the shield were part of the design. And if you get a decent shield, seems that the tail feathers are going to be ugly. Can't ever find both clean.
