What do you think about a Canadian Coin Forum?

Carol?

  • Canada is pretty well covered in the World & Ancient Forum. Lot's of "grey-side" collectors that really know their stuff.
  • We have a U.S, why not a Canada? Im noticing more and more interest!

The world & ancient coin forum should be an adequate forum for Canadian coins. If there is a Canadian forum, then where would it end?

Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.

  • Im asking because I think its coming. Carol, am I right?

  • Just quick-looked in the Set Registry forum at threads containing "Canadian" in them and found about a dozen. Last was dated Feb.27th by MDWood and it went unanswered. I just don't think a seperate forum is warrented when there are two (Registry and World & Ancient) already.

If its already coming... thats fine. Hopefully it will pull in more Canadian collectors.

I think the first step should be to send Carol to Canada.I bet she would have a great time AND get alot of submissions. The CNA which is the Canadian version of the ANA is in July.PCGS should without question be there in Ottawa. Secondly the girls of PCGS as well as HRH should promote the Canadian Set Registry.

Then there wouldn't be much talk in the world coin forum.

I would like it if PCGS increased its' focus on Canada. The Canadian Registry was a good start, a Canadian forum would be a good next step.

I think a PCGS presence in Canada would increase submissions. Right now, it is a pain to submit to PCGS, given that the coins have to cross the border twice.
  • I personally do not think a Canadian Coin Forum is needed. We have a World coin forum now. That is quite adequate.

I support a Canadian Registry and Forum as much as Canada supports US action in Iraq.image
