Are we interested in hearing the truth (or at least what has been published) or rhetoric?

I ask because of a couple of reasons.

First, I really don't like to get half of a story, and I WOULD like to be able to somewhat rely on the comments most of us post. What good is the sharing of information if you cannot rely on it.

Secondly, as a forum participant, I feel an obligation to provide accurate info when I can, or provide more info to that which I know to be incomplete.

Thirdly, and my primary concern, is that I don't want to come across as a PCGS advocate, albeit, my service of preference.

Over the past couple of days, I have noticed several threads that have presented half a story (nothing to do with banning or censorship) that have simply been incomplete and/or misleading, regardin what PCGS does or doesn't do, and have posted, or at least considered providing additional information that I have been made aware of.

I do NOT want to get involved in the politics of pro/anti PCGS, as it matters NOT to me what service others may prefer. It does bother me that misinformation is being presented -- PCGS has made some changes that those who choose to use their service would probably like to know.

I, for one, would like to disseminate the most current and accurate (as I possibly can) information, for the benefit of current and future members. Am I alone in this venture?

Gilbert -- you are not alone and it is very admirable.

It is a sad fact of life that people choose information selectively to support a particular agenda -- this board is just a small reflection of that tendancy.

Over time, however, board participants learn to determine which members are knowledgable and objective.

    Gilbert,

I do agree with you. This forum is for the advancement of this hobby and the exchanging of knowledge and ideas. It is a shame that some people have to turn this into a soap opera.

Higashiyama has made it clear- the weeds will be weeded out over time.

  • I agree! I would much rather see more posts on coins than on the policies of PCGS. If you have a gripe with PCGS, PM them and air it out. There is too much clutter on this board. Let's get back to coins...
