Pattern Grading

I'm far from an expert regarding patterns and grading patterns. However, I've noticed that the patterns seemed to be conservatively graded, at least more conservatively that regular issues. Is this true or am I possibly seeing things?

I think patterns are gradeed about how they should be. Most of the long time graders ahave seen tousands of patterns and I think they do a pretty good job.

The only series that I have a problem with at pCGS is Matte proof gold. I personally think PCGS is way too conservative on these coins, but that's just a personal opinion.
