NGC star coins

Do you think ncg stars coins have a higher success with
crossovers than normal coins without the star??
and do the graders now get to look at the grade on the holder??
I believe you stated you were going to start this earlier this
year??
LOOKING FOR 1931-s merc that is nice for the grade and fb

PCGS graders now see the NGC grade as they look at the NGC crossover submissions. This is a new method for us. We used to cover the holder grades on crossovers. A few weeks ago we started sending the coins into the grading room with the holder grades showing. I'm not sure that this will make a difference in crossover rates, but it insures that every crossover submission gets the best possible chance at crossing.

I haven't paid a lot of attention to the NGC star designation. The few I've seen seem to have nice eye appeal so I presume the crossover rate should somewhat higher than for non-stars.
