Is this 1889 CC AD a little misleading?

I've got my undies in a bind over this auction. Some Newbie is bidding up this "coin" that's not a coin. Does anyone else think the ad is leaving out some key information?

image This auction type has been running on and off for months! If you notice, there is always a new member bidding up these things. I wish eBay would remove any non US coins from this area. If they weren't made by the US Mint, they should be booted immediately from this arena!

  • It's one thing to sell copies and replicas, it's quite another to pass them off as the real thing. If somebody wants to spend a hundred for a copy, fine. As long as they know it's a copy. His ad just totally makes it sound genuine, and to boot he has sold several REAL 1889 CC's, I checked his selling history, so I am sure he knows better.

I wrote him a nastygram but decided to vent in here instead. maybe Scamcrook or a buddy are listening.

I hate to see people get ripped of by slimy dealers but I don't understand how somebody can know enough about Morgans to know a Proof Morgan is valuable but not that that year & mint had a Proof mintage of exactly 0.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

  • Notice how the price is coming down? Gee, I wonder why that might be happening?? (wink)

Bwahaha. I hope it comes down some more.

Hell ain't hot enough for that seller, and, especially, the snakes that struck those copies. (Who was it? "The American Collector's Mint"? One of those creepy joints. And it ain't even silver, as I recall- it's plated. The hype line is something like "A One Mil Fine Silver Proof".) image

YES...The truth in advertizing reached new lows with this...

  • Well I did the best that I could. Got one guy to cancel. The guy who got stuck with that piece of crap can't say that he wasn't warned.
