1923 Peace DDO Vam 2 question

Going through some silver dollars I recently relocated, I rechecked this '23 Peace dollar with obvious doubling in the date, motto and liberty. Also, the truncation shows a ridge of doubling. I took the coin to my local dealer and compare to several of his raw coins. He got his VAM book out and we found this dollar as being a VAM 2.

My question is, who would you send this to for grading and attributions? Does PCGS notate this info on the insert like ANACS or NGC? I'm pushing to sending it to PCGS with some more coins, but would like to know anyone elses experience with this type of issue.

PCGS does not attribute VAM #s.

I think thats true but,its a new day for the company.Things are changing all the time these days there.
With more attention to customer service, and starting a new attribute to the Roosie, maybe attributing
VAM #s to Morgans and Peace Dollars is right around the corner?

I think the thing on the VAMs are there still seems to be some debate among experts as to what the numbers should be.And new VAMS are still being discovered.
Its like the VAM book isnt really completed yet I guess.

I dont really know all this as fact.Just parroting some others I may have overheard mostly.

I don't foresee PCGS attributing VAMs.
I can understand the grading companies not attributing VAM #s. They would have to hire a new squad of graders to handle the task; how many VAM #s are there? About 20,000 nowdays?
Attributing a die pair is much more time consuming than flipping a coin over for a couple of seconds then designating a numerical grade.
As far as being accurate even the experts that write the VAM books disagree on what is a VAM. One experts Top 100 die pair # is another's common pairing with a crack or chip.
ANACS does not attribute VAM #s for free. They have what they call varietry verification and they charge $1 to do it. For variety verifaction YOU assign the vam # on the submission form and they verify it. If you picked the proper # you get the # on the holder. If you pick the wrong number you get no vam # on the holder nor no $1 refund. Just like no refund on a bodybag.

That's an extra $1 in addition to the normal grading fee I should add.
