Alan, Candidly, the two issues are so far apart that I can't relate to connecting them. One I associate with a great deal of pleasure, and the other I associate with death and sorrow. I say this as a 21 year Marine who spent too much time at war and too much time away from home. Pray for peace and the end to suffuring on Textsides. May the innocent not suffer. Dick
Granted, collecting coins seems rather trivial compared to war, but the hobby does provide an escape from the stress of everyday life. I'll be spending time following the war news, but will continue to participate in numismatics. I don't believe there was a decline in the hobby during WWII or Viet Nam, and wouldn't expect it now, unless there were widespread terrorist attacks in this country that could undermine the economy.
