Denomination Type Sets

I think denomination type sets would be a good idea. We could have sets with the major design types... not ech variety within.

WOWZER!!!!!!!! just when i stumble onto something to give interest to looking at type somebody else starts a thread about it!! i feel that it's a wonderful, varied and interesting set to consider even if it isn't a registered one. for me, i'm too strung out with other sets and too limited financially to be able to undertake a true U.S. type set. with the one you mentioned, i think it would be great with all denominations through the platinum represented by the coin of choice.

another that i have partially done that's out of the ordinary and a bit more modern and easy to complete is a set bandied about last year which includes all the circulation strike coins issued only in mint sets.

hey brian, are you thinking of lobbying for the denomination set??

I think it's a great idea, and wonder why PCGS hasn't already offered them. It offers a lot of variety, and most series (except quarters)wouldn't be topheavy in moderns. Many collectors like the appearance of just copper or silver or gold, and have no desire to collect all metals.

Seems that this suggestion would be easy for PCGS to implement.
