I agree. Greg and anyone else should be given another chance.

I'm not convinced what PCGS did was "wrong" but then again, no one has to categorize banning Greg or anyone else as wrong.

PCGS doesn't have announce anything...just unblock him let's just go on about our lives.

All persons given a pardon will appreciate it and err on the side of being more carefull of what they say.

    Forgiveness is totally empowering!

I agree, this was not handled well. PCGS needs to reinstate Greg ASAP. To ban someone..... then start a "new rules policy" a couple of hours later is not right. Greg helped to make the forum sucessful. I can remember when this site got 3 to 4 new posts a DAY!

  • I too have tied a yellow ribbon for Greg, so yes, bring him back with Blue TuTu and scarlet letter S (for 'SCUMBAG' a term he often used that I have not seen for a few days now).

Agree with Adrian - just flip the switch and send Greg an e-mail about expectations. He has clearly had the PCGS scope crosshairs on him for quite some time, but it is only fair to let him try and conform to the new policies.

<< <i>This message board is compliments of PCGS. When you come here to communicate with other collectors you are not a customer.....you are a guest, they don't charge anything to be able to post here. There was an ageement we all clicked on "I accept" when we signed up to post on this board. Maybe some people need to re-read the terms they agreed to abide by........ >>

When I clicked the "I accept" button, I didn't see anything there stating I could only enter If I agree 100% with everything PCGS does (or says). I will respectfully disagree & call it as I see it when I don't like something. *I* am a customer and so are *YOU*.

And as far as the boards being complimentary? I don't know about you, but I pay for my PCGS membership & submissions which fund this board. It's a service that is paid for by customers. Having the message board makes their service much more fun & interesting which helps keep us as PAYING CUSTOMERS.

Keets, you said it very well.
  • I agree completely, Tjennings. It seems that "Big Brother" is everywhere. Folks should just quit whining,
and read what they are interersted in, and ignore what they don't agree with. Seems pretty simple to me.
Then again, I KNOW my fecal matter doesn't smell like roses, and it seems that there are a lot of people
out there who think that theirs does...

if I were FBH, I would have to stick to my guns on this one.

if I were greg, even if the ban were lifted, I would not return to this forum.

I am still not clear if this was a " permanent ban ". Hopefully it is just a " suspension " and GREG will return on " probation ". Greg was rough around the edges, but extremely helpful and knowledgeable.
Hope he wants to return, if allowed.

I agree with everyone that wants to bring back Gmarguli. I'd also like to put in my vote to bring Derrick back, as he was unfairly banned awhile ago...

  • Greg got what he asked for. He knew the rules, it's up to him to follow them. I've seen many guys like him on other message boards. No mater what you do he will keep pushing that fine line, ruining things for everyone else. he fits into that mold perfectly. he would just keep it up until he was kicked off again. Maybe one chance, but only if he came groveling.

Bear- That definitive statement sounds like it came from someone that has discussed this matter with HRH on the phone. Is that the case?? image

Larry, the 2 minute recap, as I see it:

Mr. Hall tired of all of the PCGS bashing and was probably upset about a post of Mark Salzberg's (about NGC's market leadership, etc.) on the NGC board being placed on the PCGS board. It APPEARS that Greg was booted without warning, for doing the very thing he had consistently done for so very long. I guess David wanted to make an example out of him.

Many PCGS forum members have since migrated to the NGC board (and others) and there has been some derisiveness among former forum buddies, recently.

    Thanks for the recap...
Greg is kinda like me..we say what is on our mind..
    ...right Steve image
Sometimes it gets me in trouble..
I have supported PCGS from day one,and we need them to stay around..
They do have alot of problems as I see it..
I wanted to take Rick's place and fix them up..but they picked someone else....
    oh well..
maybe I will start my own grading company image
