One more mountain to climb...............

As most of you know I have been working pretty hard on my 1972 Topps Football set. Over the past 6 months I have not only completed my set but also took over the #1 spot from the GREAT John McLane. There is only one more goal that I hope to reach. Although I currently hold the #1 position in set rating, John still has the highest weighted GPA 8.61 to 8.60

I posted a want list on the VST board...take a look and see if you may have any cards for sale that I may need.

Thanks

Carlos

Show was slow. I saw Greg at cameo cards. He asked about you and wondered how you were. He had a few new nines but none on your list. I hit every table in the show and only five tables had any selection at all. One guy had quitee a few eights but your list is few on these. Saw some raw but didnt want to take the chance on these. I dont think I am that good yet. I will continue to look for you and will check my stock as I have some 1600 raw in my barn left over from my card store. I am also thinking I have a partial set also.
I also ran into Steve Peckavich. I think I just slaughtered his last name and he sent his best to you along with Joe from set builders.
The show was just slow. I found zero graded for my 68 ,69,75 sets and bought only 30 raw 1961's and 40 raw 1969's. I did find a 69 Duncan which should grade a eight. That will be big for me if it does.
Sorry I could not help but it was just the battle I will stay in the war.

  • Dave,

I didn't see you in Chicago but I was very disappointed in the cards there. I normally return home with $10 left over for food but I didn't find a single card at this show for me. I bought 1 card for Jay and that was it. The dealer's selection was very sparce overall (not everyone's just most) and I didn't find any raw 74's that would even be close to nm/mt. There were quite a few modern card dealers and lot's of cool memorabilia though.

I watched for you but didn't see you. I noticed the same thing, alot of modern and very little vintage graded or raw. Oh well maybe the next one. The 74's are looking great keep up the great work.

    Dave,

Thanks for looking around for me. If I'm feeling up to it, there is a big show in Cleveland (Strongsville) in a few weeks that I might attend.

    Thanks Again,
