So are you going to go nuts on Ebay to reclaim your title?

You and Jason are both true football collectors. Jason (JasP) has been going nuts on the HOF RC set, and there's a lot of overlap between the two. Still, fill one of those slots and you're back to #1 image.

Yep, I didn't think i would catch you, as you have such a nice set. But a snagged a PSA 8 Fears and a PSA 8 Alworth in the last couple of weeks that put me up there. Still LOTS of room to catch me, and plenty of time as well. Finding those cards you need in PSA 8 is downright TOUGH. I settled for a 7 Biletnikoff and a 6 Berry. Figure I can always upgrade. Got an Ellard yesterday, so I just need a Warfield and a Hirsch to get to 100%.

I have been collecting NFL HOF RCs as well as future HOF RCs for the last 4-5 years. Trust me, I did not just "go nuts" all of a sudden..lol

I just don't have that kinda loot. lol

  • Ed- I'm impressed with your GPA. The Biletnikoff and Hutson are the toughest to find. I'm right behind you guys, but not as obsessiveimage. I'm going to the Rothstein show, next week. If I see anything on your list I'll let you know. If I see the Biletnikoff though, you'll know when you see it in my set.image

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply you were a johnny-come-lately collector. It just, every time I pull up the HOF RC set, I see an "updated" by your name image

Joe, I wasn't offended at all. I thought it was pretty funny actually...lol

You're right though, my buying is slow and steady...If I need it, I'm usually bidding on it..lol
But I do usually have a set price in mind for each card, and I have been getting outbid more times than not lately...

  • Fabfrank, You are so right about the cards I need, they are truly difficult to locate. When I do find one they seem to go for big $$. Who knows you might find 2 Biletnikoffs at the show.image Have a good time at the show.

I recently saw a 1965 Topps #133 Fred Biletnikoff RC PSA 8 on someones web site. I think it was Mintstate. I think the asking price was 800.

  • Bingo33, I think I know about that card. I can't remember where I saw it, but $800 is a little rich for me. I guess if I get desparate I would probably do it. You never know when we card collectors get frustrated by looking sooooo long for a card that we decide to pay the piper.image
