Floor bidding on raw gold: Bowers Baltimore auction

Do you expect the floor bidding for the raw gold offered to be strong or weak? As I have not seen these coins in person, are they generally decent looking or low end for the grades indicated? Are the major gold dealers attending or passing on this auction?

There are a number of important and interesting gold coins being offered. As we have previously discussed here, many are raw. If they are nice, clean coins, I would expect the floor bidding to be strong.

I bid on a few of the raw gold coins myself through the online pre-bidding and was the high bidder. But many of the bids may not hold up through the floor bidding.

I spoke with my representative in Baltimore today. The coin I wanted the most, the 1861-O $20, has been cleaned and would not make a PCGS/NGC holder. Therefore, I will have to pass. There are a few neat coins like the 1879-O $20 PCGS AU-53 (ex-Eliasberg) that I would like to have but should go for full Trends, if not more.
