Here's a coin that spent over 20 years in an old kraft coin envelope, and has acquired some toning:

The coin IMO grades MS64, with a nice MS64+ obverse. There is some light chatter on Ben's jawline, brow, and lapel and a hairline in the field in front of his face, and a tiny reeding mark behind his head.

The coin has an ok MS63- reverse, with a few light bell hits and a rim tick at 2:30. The bell lines are nearly full but also suffer a couple of abrasions:

I bought this coin as a kid from my local coin shop, for $6. My grandpa took me that day.
Sorry, it is not for sale, just for my old collection and your viewing pleasure

Good title too - could you have gotten a few more F's in there?!?!?!

You sure squeezed a lot of "Fs" in the thread title.
Fantastic images, BTW. You shoot those?

Chatter is nicks and dings, also known as bag marks. But, they aren't necessarily caused from being in a bag; they can also happen from banging against other coins when the mint dumps them in the hopper during processing.

of course, it's a continuum, there's no discrete line, but i think of it as chatter looks like the coin was rapidly, lightly tapped or "chattered' against other coins, while a bag mark looks like one or two harder hits.
