One thing to keep in mind when confronted with a URL like this:

    http://cgi3.ebay.com:aw-cgieB ayISAPI.dllSignInRegisterEnterInfo&siteid=0co_partnerid=2@66.230.230.51/ 7e3baycgi/

Everything to the left of the "@" sign is ignored by the browser. So, the real site this URL points to is not ebay.com but rather 66.230.230.51, which DanC whois'd above.

PayPal scams of this nature are also very common. Be careful out there.
  • I received one of these and had it about half filled out when something didn't feel right. What in the world did ebay need my atm pin #for. I remembered a warning message posted on ebay's sell your item page.I went there and sure enough this is exactly what they warned about. They plainly state that they will never ask for information like this in an email nor will they ever use a link to their site to extract that kind of info. I forwarded the form to them at their request.( spoof@ebay.com).Their reply was that this definitely did not come from ebay. They further informed me that if they ever needed info regarding my account,I should go to "my ebay" and use the safe harbor access provided there. Some one said this scam is originating from Russia with the Russian mafia involved but I'm unable to confirm this. I expect more of this to happen in the future probably with a different format so just beware and read ebay's statement and advice again. Regards Dave
