Hey Merc folks...guess what I got today...

A new little lady has found her way to my set. I am now the proud owner of a very pretty little lady residing in a PCGS MS64FB holder. This baby was born in 1929, and looks incredibly good for her age. IMHO, she is nicer looking than a mere 64, but I'm not a professional. image

Welcome home little lady! imageimage

    Very clever message!

And what a cool date for a coin. 1929 coins have always intrigued me because I can readily imagine that the people alive then had no idea of the economic hell they were going to go through...followed by the hell of a world war... One of the things I like so much about coins is their ability to transport the collector to an entirely different era. And thinking about your 1929 dime surely does that for me! image

    Beth,

Congratulations on the arrival of your little lady. Many of us here prefer our ladies to have white hair, while others like to have it tinted (toned). Either way, Miss Liberty can be quite stunning for a lady of her years, provided she hasn't seen too much circulation. image

Mark, being a person that's always enjoyed history, I usually try to think of the events that occurred the year a coin was minted. Having an old coin in my hand makes me feel like I'm holding a piece of history. It makes me appreciate all that a coin has "lived" through, and adds a great deal to the enjoyment of the hobby.
