I can't see it well enough to give you a grade on it, but it looks like a nice coin.
  • Tough picture to grade from, and without a reverse, all I can do is a little speculation so bear with me...

At 1st glance, the coin looks like it could garner a dcam rating, but after a hard look at the fields, it appears that the surface is not actually the proof-like luster that is needed for that rating.

Just based off of the obverse alone, the coin looks to have a really nice strike, with slight cheek abrasion. A spot on the left lower neck, and field chatter (boogers! image ) beneath her nose. The rim seems to be marked at about even with the "E" and again just below it.

Based on the obverse only, I would have to say it will go a MS-65. Nicks, wear, or bag marks on the reverse would have to be at a minimum to keep it at this grade.

Personally, slabbing is only necessary if you are planning to sell it, BUT GET IT OUT OF THAT HOLDER! Go buy an air-tite holder that is actually made to fit that coin. Otherwise, you will get wear on one side or another from the coin sliding around in it. Even a clear plastic flip is less damaging to the dollar than what you are picturing it in...

Good Luck, and let us know what's going on with it.
