I think PCGS needs to tighten the rubber band that powers the server

Site seems to be awfully slow this afternoon. Must be all the interest in David's recent posts.

Well, they're running Windows 2000 Server with IIS 5. They should just restart IIS. Take about 30 seconds and will probably fix the problems. That'd flush out the memory the ISAPI filters and extensions have been allocating.

Yes, assuming that is the issue. Other parts of the Internet are slow so it could be ANOTHER worm or their ISP. A reboot could not hurt but for about three minutes.

True, though this is the only site on the net that is crawling for me. In that case, the IT staff should be taking the computer off-line, fixing the problem, and rebooting. Assuming, they've set up all the security stuff like iis lockdown, set up the registry keys for windows, and are running urlscan.

The rest of the net is screaming fast for me. It's just this site.

The number of users on today doesn't seem to be higher than normal.

Just as David Hall posts a bunch of threads, the site gets painfully slow making responding to his threads nearly impossible. Coincidence?image

You mean they use a rubber band for power? I thought it was a hamster running on a wheel! Thought maybe they forgot to feed it. image

No kidding! This is too painful to continue with. At least I got through the better part of 'War and Peace' while waiting for the pages to load. Guess I'll go finish that.

Magically got better right after the internet bidding on the bowers sale ended. Related?

They could always upgrade to a system not made by Microsoft. Would fix these sort of problems as well as save some money.
