  • Is anyone else experiencing problems? Mine's working, but I've never seen it move this slowly.
  • The boards are really slow right now. I think alot more people are logged on reading your posts.

The problem with the boards reminds me of a favorite album.....Heavy Traffic.image I am very happy PCGS and Mr.Hall have chosen responsiveness and involvement. I am interested in seeing the Presidential review at work, and am quite excited about the toe tag and no cross grades. It will make PCGS far less a blackbox technology for the collector/submitter. I am also very encouraged there is discussion forthcoming re the other customer concerns.

I think they need to hire me to set up a clustered web farm for all their sites. A complete overhaul of all their sites, including many many many super-duper goodies can be had for around $500,000. If it's just a web farm minus structered area network storage and content management server, it can be done for about 10-15 thousand. Couple of desktops, a load balancer, Microsoft App Center, IIS 5, Windows Server. .NET, yeah, then there could be lots of great services. Like a SOAP access function to retrieve info from a cert number or submission info from another SOAP function. Man, lots of possibilities in this far beyond even that. And probably an increase in throughput of 80% or so with each additional node on the farm. Yeah, that sounds good!!

And if your pipe to the net sucks, it is a total waste. Isn't this site currently running on a windows system? Problem recognized.

That's great, except $500k is a lot of money for a company who's net worth is only about $12 million.

THAT"S IT!!!I honestly believe that this is all any of us ever wanted. PCGS will be making a huge move forward by explaining itself, i.e. why they do what they do. If someone can explain to me WHY certain things happen, I am far more likely to accept a good explanation than that "left in the dark" feeling I get most of the time, at ANY of the grading services. Mr. Hall, if you can do these things it would be very beneficial to all. Being PROACTIVE is the answer to the majority of your troubles.

We are finite beings, limited in all our powers, and, hence, our conclusions are not only relative, but they should ever be held subject to correction. Positive assurance is unattainable. The dogmatist is the only one who claims to possess absolute certainty.
