Scam or Not?

Last month, there was a post about a burglary of a coin store in Indiana. As the story went, their entire inventory was stolen. Several board members agreed to send off some coins to help them replenish their inventory. Anyone who sent anything hear from them? I did not and am beginning to feel stupid again. Here's a link to the post.

<< <i>Can you confirm the existence of a "OAKEL HARDY TRUST FUND" account at your Greensburg branch? As a retired bank attorney I understand the privacy issues, and am only seeking confirmation of the existence or non-existence of such an account, to which a client has been requested to make a donation. Thank you. >>

<< <i>I have received your email in regards to a trust fund account. At the present time I do not show a trust fund account setup in that name to make donations in. >>
satootoko,
Did your eMail response come from some low level functionary, or somebody who might actually know what they're talking about?

That's a position title I would direct inquiries of this nature to, based on my 40+ years as a bank/financial institutions attorney.
It doesn't say there never was such an account, but again based on my experience I would expect that type of account to stay in existence for at least 6 months.
