Nice chunk of change for an 8...Are 71's tuffer than the 70's...
1971's are significantly tougher than 1970s. Most of the 1970s Kellogg cards have large double or triple-digit populations in PSA 9 or better. I think there are only a handful of cards with populations under 20 in PSA 9.
In contrast, 1971 Kelloggs is riddled with some very tough variations, and many cards with PSA 8 or better populations of less than five. The Rose is one of the easiest cards in the set (with that honor belonging to Mays and Clemente for now....)
So are they just rare or just condition sensitive for instance what would a 71 xm-nrmt
fetch...

Set that is...
I was offered an 8 several months ago for $100, and I am kicking myself. There may be just a lot of Rose hype right now, as Robert and I have seen, but if I had one of these and was not a collector of Rose or the set I would be selling.
Matt - if you have one, send me scan ....
The 71 set is much scarcer than the other Kellogg's sets due to the fact that it was the only Kellogg set that was not available via mail in offer... The only way to complete this one was to buy cereal box after cereal box. As for value my guess on a complete Near Mint Set (raw ) would be somewhere between $1000-1500. Galveston(Mick) would probably be a better source for pricing on 71 K cards... I have handled very few 71 K cards but they do seem to be much more prone to centering problems than other Kellogg issues....

I learn something everyday...
No rose sorry just curious...
As for why I was looking for a price on the set I know where one resides for like 150 bucks
it looked like to me between x-nrmt some better some worse...

You mix some Pete Rose player collectors with some Kelloggs Kollectors, and you are almost guaranteed to have a bidding war in the end...
MS
Larry, what are you doing with your 9?

Add the second highest bidder into your equation and go hummmmmm.........
Larry had interest in my 76 Kellogg's Bench even though he's already the owner of another and there was no war on my card yesterday.I would have to guess the Rose auction put fear into K Kollectors yesterday. However,I can't complain with about $10 invested into the card I auctioned.
